Writing and Understanding Numbers with Auntie Nats Book 1

Writing and Understanding Numbers with Auntie Nats Book 1 seeks to help learners to develop a solid foundation and an enjoyable, lasting relationship with numbers.

Learners will not only learn to count, but will also:

• develop number sense. Number sense is the ability to understand, relate and connect numbers.  As a teacher with nearly 30 years of continuous interaction in the classroom, I cannot over-emphasize the importance of the development of this skill,

• be engaged in the repeated copying, tracing and writing of numbers to boost memory and improve the formation of numbers,

• establish the foundation necessary to compute and solve problems such as reading the clock, calculating elapsed time, counting money, rounding numbers and more,

• understand number values and

• enhance reading and comprehension.
